Light Your World.....

Today is Friday. I was in a wonderful mood on the way to work this morning. My heart was full to overflowing. Everything just looked brighter today. The trees were greener. The tomatoes hanging on the vine at the nursery I pass were redder. The sun was shining on the horses at the stable and reflected muscles that seemed more defined. Ahhhhh....

I was listening to a song by Newsong entitled "Light Your World." It speaks of a woman who's husband has passed. Her phone never rang. There was no laughter. No joy. Until one day when a neighbor child rang her doorbell and a friendship began.

It's the simple things. The things we don't think about. What may seem like nothing to you may mean the world to someone else. A smile, a handshake, a wave, a hug. Simple things.

Some time back, I was told that I was a "joy carrier." When people meet me or see me, they smile because they're drawn to my smile and the joy that is within me. I like that. I try to use my joy everyday to make someone's life a little brighter...to light my world.

An Afternoon Giggle........

Disclaimer: Names have been left out to protect the non-innocent ;)

I work in a totally unique place. I can say with confidence that I'm sure it's a place like no other. Yes, sometimes things get stressful, but for the most part, we have a lot of fun. There are a lot of great people here and we're more like family than co-workers.

So this afternoon M was in J's office looking through some sample magazines to take to someone at a church. B was standing in the door way while this was going on. You must note that my office is next door to J's office. So they're rifling through magazines and someone picks up a Cosmo. M says "I don't think that's something they're going to want laying around at a church." B starts reading titles off the cover......"What Sex Is Like For Him......Girlie Moves That Make Guys Melt.....His Secret Pleasure Zone." So I holler from my office "HEY!! Can I have that?" Of course the three off them totally crack up and the next thing I know, the darned thing's on my desk!

Reckon I got some reading to do! lol

Dance in the rain, baby

A friend of mine has this saying posted on his blog.....

"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. Life is about learning to dance in the rain."

I like that...a lot.

If we wait for the "storm" to pass, who knows what opportunities we missed? Kind of like wishing your life away. Y'all know what I mean...."I wish it were Friday." We've all heard it...we've all said it. Embrace the "now" for you never know what the moment holds. When life presents a problem...dance through it, for you know eventually the sun will peek through the clouds and the storm will pass. Remember the feeling of playing in the rain when you were a child? (Until your mother made you come in before you caught your death of cold) Remember the feeling of seeing a puddle of water, and without hesitation, jumping in with both feet? A giggle usually followed. How can you fret when you're giggling?

So...

The next time a storm crosses your path...dance
